Going to Honolulu is always a treat. It's not somewhere necessarily known for clothing, sans Aloha shirts, but I wanted to search for a different side of Honolulu. Although the trip was short, we made the most of it.
Favorite Brick-and-Mortar
Here's a list of my picks from my visit. Below are links and a short description. My favorite stores were Single Double and APB.
Heritage/Vintage
- Single Double: A vintage store that also has a section upstairs used as a tiny retail space for Blue in Green SoHo. The staff was very friendly, and there were a lot of fun items sprinkled around the shop. A cool place to check out if you want to cop some raw denim in Hawai'i. I also picked up a hat!

Sportswear
- Salvage Public: A brand designed by Hawaiians for Hawaiians. They use high-quality materials and local motifs.
Streetwear/Skate
- APB: A.K.A. A'ala Park Bastards. I got to learn so much about the history of the streetwear scene in Honolulu just from talking to the worker there. I learned a lot about Stüssy's and HUF's presence, and about shops that are no longer around, like KICKS/HI. I picked up some stickers on the way out.
- Kith Waikiki: I seem to always end up at Kith, mostly for the treats. Similar to my visit to Seoul, it's what you'd expect from Kith. Has a Kith Treats next door.

- Gossip: Another secondhand/vintage shop run by the owner of Single Double. I didn't get a chance to go, but it came recommended.

Closing Remarks
O'ahu never gets old for me — poke, poke, poke. You swim, snack and nap, rinse and repeat. I recommend Jenny's Shrimp Truck on the North Shore, Kimchee II for meat jun, and Morning Catch for what is, in my opinion, the best poke I've ever had.
